Raiders put trio to the testTHREE young Kyogle Rugby League Club players were invited to attend trials with the Canberra Raiders last month.
The three boys - Ben Studders, Jamie Baker and Sam Nicholson - travelled to Canberra with Kyogle's under-18 coach, Mitch Carter, for the two days of trials.
The boys did themselves proud during the trials which gave them the chance to see just how hard the NRL selection process is.
Studders trialled with the Raiders' Jersey Flegg side while the other two boys played in under-20s Toyota Cup trials.
All three boys displayed the skills that led to them being invited to join the Raiders and the results of the selection process will be known in two weeks.
If selected, the boys will be required to move residence to Canberra to train and play in their respective grades.
Mitch Carter has expressed his thanks to those individuals and companies that assisted in getting the boys to Canberra.
This again displays the wonderful support that emanates from the Kyogle community in helping their own. Source: The Northern Star
