This year it was Auckland. Next year it will be Townsville as the Canberra Raiders look to lighten their hefty travel load. The Raiders will have a Far North Queensland getaway in the lead-up to their round 20 clash against the North Queensland Cowboys in Townsville. Rather than coming home after playing St George Illawarra at Wollongong on July 26, they'll head straight to Queensland for a mini-camp in the run home to finals. It's something they tried to great success this year when they stayed in Sydney after playing the Panthers in Penrith before flying to Auckland to take on the New Zealand Warriors.
