The Canberra Raiders' re-signing spree is set to continue with co-captain Elliott Whitehead opening talks to extend for another two years. It would take the England international, who's contracted until the end of next year, through to the end of the 2024 NRL season - which would be his ninth in lime green. The Australian resident sat out the Sharks game due to a shoulder injury, but was expected to be ready for the Green Machine's clash with Parramatta at the Gold Coast on Thursday. He's proven to be one of the most resilient players at Canberra and has only missed four games since joining the club - the past two weeks with injury, one due to suspension in 2017 and he was rested for the final round last year. Whitehead's also been incredibly versatile, playing in the second row, the middle, five-eighth and centre since moving from English Super League club Catalans at the end of 2015.
