Former Raiders halves Aidan Sezer and Blake Austin helped Leeds to get their 2022 campaign off to a winning start with a 34-6 Boxing Day victory over Wakefield Trinity at Headingley Stadium.
It was the first outing for Austin and Sezer in a Rhinos' jersey, while Jack Sinfield – the 17-year-old son of former Leeds and England great Kevin Sinfield – came on as a replacement in the second half.
Sinfield received a huge ovation when he entered the field to replace Sezer, who suffered a minor ankle injury.
“It gave me goose bumps really, it was a dream come true," Sinfield told the Leeds website. “I loved it, it went really quick, it felt like two minutes but I loved it.
"I was really nervous but excited at the same time, it was good to get out there. It was a great experience to feel like what it’s like on a game day and get used to it.”
