GO JACK! He's back! Jacks back!

Lot of late changes here, losing Merritt is a big blow to them he is a class player. I'll be watching the AD FREE replay in HD (thank you very much crappy channel 9!) so wont be doing live updates, but check the raiders alerts board if you need scores. Will do live updates next week for the Toyota cup match tho.

Go Raiders! Know you can do it boys go for it!

Well done on a great finish to the season boys. You made me really proud and last weekend against the Sharks was awesome! Shame souths were too good tonight but we did great to make it this far.

Now it's Toyota Cup time! Can anyone say hoodoo? Dragons are going down!

Honestly I would rather lose in week two of the finals than lose a GF qualifier or the GF itself, so in that respect I'm glad we lost last night if we werent going to win the whole thing. It just wasnt our night but we still put in a good show. Proud of the guys for making it this far and showing the NRL that we weren't just making up the numbers. I bet you the Dogs are so happy right now that they don't have to play us again next week!

Shillington says Canberra has a lot to learn

They'd been playing cut-throat football for weeks, but Raiders skipper David Shillington believes his side's late-season surge masked some flaws before Saturday's 38-16 finals loss to Souths.

Full of confidence after winning six straight games, the Raiders were brought back to earth with a thud by a strong and committed Rabbitohs display at ANZ Stadium.

Realistically, Canberra's 34-6 thrashing of Canterbury in round 25 was the only time the Raiders played at their peak in their winning run.

2012 is over, but things look good for next year

SOUTH SYDNEY players kissed the black rabbit logo sitting on top of their hearts all night long from their very first try in the eighth minute. Canberra players kissed their season goodbye after 80 minutes.

The season is over for the Raiders, but not all is lost.

While the Raiders were outclassed last night, they have shown enough in the second half of this season to be optimistic about the next.

Then again, there has been plenty of false promises in seasons past too for Raiders fans not to be a little cautious about 2013.

Smiling Furner puts brave face on pain of loss

CANBERRA RAIDERS coach David Furner strolled into last night's post-match press conference sporting a broad grin.

It was an attempt to mask the pain of his side's season-ending loss to a rampant South Sydney outfit.

''I've got a good face on mate,'' he grinned when asked of his upbeat mood.

But while he was hurting inside, deep down he's proud of how his side has reacted to adversity this year.

THE LASSCOCK family of Queanbeyan has a strong connection with the Raiders. Last night one of their boys was finally represented in an NRL match.

The Canberra Raiders wore black armbands in last night's NRL semi-final against the South Sydney Rabbitohs to commemorate the life of former junior Jay Lasscock. The 25-year-old Queanbeyan Blues captain died suddenly last Sunday.

Led by Raiders captains Terry Campese and David Shillington, both very close friends of Jay's elder brother Cy, the Raiders players requested to wear the bands last night to pay their respects.

Shillington and Campese both spent time with the Lasscock family during the week. ''It's a footballing family, all the brothers have played footy for the Raiders and the Queanbeyan Blues. It's hit the rugby league community pretty hard,'' Campese said. ''I'm close to the family personally and it definitely hit a few of the boys at training hard, too. It's something you never want to happen and it's great the boys wanted to show their respect for the family and Jay.''
