Due to the NRL salary cap auditor blocked the opportunity for Mitch Cornish to make his first grade debut this weekend, the promising halfback will return to the NYC to captain the side.

Jono Kent drops out of the side as a result of Cornish's return whilst Matthew Frawley and Aisea Taholo drop off an extended bench.

FIRST HALF

The Holden cup match between the Raiders and Sharks is underway at Canberra Stadium. Sharks kicked off.

Raiders score first! Reuben goes over for yet another try in the Holden Cup. Cornish converts. Raiders lead 6-0 after 4 mins. Gee Reuben sure knows how to find the try line!

Raiders are in again! Heffernan gets over for the try this time to extend the early lead. Cornish converts again. Raiders now lead 12-0 over Sharks in the Holden Cup after 10 mins. Great start by the Green Machine!

Sharks score and get back in the match with a try to Broughton. Conversion from Garrett is successful. Raiders lead 12-6 after 14 mins.

Raiders score! Creith gets a try for the Green Machine and stops Cronulla's momentum and extends the Raiders lead. Cornish converts. Raiders lead 18-6 after 21 mins.

Raiders score again! The Raiders dynamic fullback Ahearn goes over for the try this time. Cornish converts. Raiders lead 24-6 with 5 mins left until half time in the Holden Cup.

Half time in the Holden Cup, Raiders lead Sharks 24-6.

SECOND HALF

Play is back underway in the Holden Cup for the second half, Raiders lead Sharks 24-6.

Raiders score! Reuben goes over for his second try of the match after some great lead up play by the Raiders. Cornish converts. Raiders lead 30-6 after 50 mins.

Sharks score and hit straight back. Holmes scores their second try of the game. Garrett converts. Raiders lead 30-12 after 52 mins.

Sharks score again. Pittman gets the try this time and the Sharks reduce the deficit. Conversion missed. Raiders lead 30-16 with 24 mins left.

Sharks score again. Seems like the Raiders have fallen asleep a little, they need to wake up and finish them off! Chahoud gets the try this time. Conversion successful. Raiders lead 30-22.

Raiders hit back! Lee goes in for the try and stops the Sharks comeback. Cornish converts. Raiders lead 36-28 with 12 mins left.

Sharks score. Wells goes over for the try to make it a 2 point ball game. Raiders lead 36-34 with only a few minutes left. Come on Raiders finish them off!

Only a couple of minutes left in the Holden Cup, Raiders still lead 36-34.
