Canberra Raiders V Wests Tigers
Toyota Cup Grand Final
Sunday September 30th 2012, 2:00pm AEST @ ANZ Stadium, Sydney Olympic Park NSW

Grand Final Preview:
The Canberra Raiders will play in their second Toyota Cup grand final this Sunday against the Wests Tigers and will be hoping they can have a repeat of the success that the first Raiders' under-20s team achived in 2008. Many of the Raiders in that inaugural 2008 premiership winning team such as Jarrod Croker, Josh Dugan and Shaun Fensom, have since gone on to become stars in Canberra's NRL team and the junior Raiders will be looking to use this year's NYC decider as a stepping stone to greater heights. Winning a grand final is never easy though, just ask that same Raiders team of 2008 who were forced to win the big one against the Broncos in golden point extra time.

To win the 2012 title the Green Machine must defeat a highly skilled Wests Tigers outfit who are brimming with confidence after surviving a late comeback by the Sydney Roosters and holding on to win 28-22 in their match last week. Canberra will also be full of confidence after claiming their spot in the grand final with a thumping 44-16 point win over the St George Illawarra Dragons.

As both of last week's games illustrate, the Raiders are the masters of attacking footy in the Toyota Cup whilst the Tigers are better in the defence department, which should make for an interesting grand final. If the Raiders can get out to a lead they may have too many points in them for the Tigers to catch up, but if the Tigers can get ahead Canberra might find it hard to break through Wests' solid defence.

Players to watch for the Raiders are Anthony Milford and Edrick Lee who have both been stand-outs this year, while Jacob Miller and Marika Koroibete are danger men in attack for the Tigers. Lee and Koroibete both bring NRL experience to their teams and will no doubt want to have a big say in the result of the match.

Only 80 minutes of footy seperates the Raiders from capping off a great season with a premiership, can they do it? Tune in to Fox Sports 2 or Channel 9 at 2pm on Sunday to find out! Don't forget you can also join us here at raiders.net.au for live score updates from the grand final.

RNA would like to congratulate the Toyota Cup Raiders on a fantastic season and wish them good luck in the grand final! Go mighty Green Machine!
