Another victory over a finals aspirant last weekend has the NYC Sharks travelling to Canberra on Sunday confident of a bold showing against the competition leading Raiders.

The Sharks knocked the Cowboys out of the finals race with close to their best attacking performance of the season last weekend and with hooker Michael Lichaa returning after a couple of weeks in the NSW Cup, will be out to take down another highly rated opponent in their last game for 2013.

Back in round 10 the Sharks pushed the Raiders all the way and were somewhat unlucky in losing 26-24, with the young Canberra boys sure to be wary of what the Sharks might be capable of this time around.

Aside from the return of Lichaa Sharks coach James Shepherd has limited the changes to his line-up, with last week’s hooker Scott Sorenson shifting to lock. Chad McGill, who crossed for his first try of the season in the victory over the Cowboys, goes back to the interchange bench.

The Sharks moved to 12th place after their sixth win in nine matches last weekend and although they are unable to make the finals travel south determined to finish their season on a high.

The Sharks v Raiders NYC match is scheduled for a 4.45pm kickoff at Canberra Stadium on Sunday.
