The Canberra Raiders’ NYC side will be aiming to generate some momentum for the finals series this Sunday when they take on the Cronulla Sharks at Canberra Stadium.
Last Saturday the junior Raiders sealed the Holden Cup minor premiership with a 26-16 win over fellow finals contenders, the New Zealand Warriors in a performance that impressed coach Mick Mantelli.
“I thought it was a very tough win,” Mantelli said.
“Obviously playing the Warriors in Auckland is an extremely tough game… we had a few out but I was very confident that the team I took over there would get the points, and they did.
“Last weekend was a very big step forward.”
