The Canberra Raiders could go back to the future in their quest to solve their playmaking dilemma as former halfback Sam Williams is a chance to return to the club next year.
But the Raiders have quashed rumours they are interested in controversial North Queensland halfback Robert Lui.
The Raiders have made tentative inquiries about the Williams, who has also attracted offers from England, but are yet to make a decision.
His manager, Paul Sutton, who also looks after Cornish, plans to get a better gauge of Canberra's view of the 23-year-old Williams when he meets club officials next week
