Sandor Earl suspended for drug use and trafficking
« on: August 29, 2013, 04:19:02 PM »
The NRL has issued an infraction notice to Canberra Raiders winger Sandor Earl, suspending him immediately for use and trafficking of performance-enhancing drug CJC 1295.

Chief executive Dave Smith and chief operating officer Jim Doyle announced the infraction notice at Rugby League Central.

It has been more than six months since the "blackest day in sport" press conference in February that launched the ASADA investigation.

Essendon were last week fined $2 million by the AFL and coach James Hird was handed a 12-month ban in the wake of the investigation into improper supplement use by players at the AFL club.

Twitter went into overdrive in the lead-up to Thursday's press conference with all sorts of rumours speculated upon, ranging from the likelihood of further sanctions being handed down to controversial Canberra Raiders centre Blake Ferguson to the possibility of findings being announced about Cronulla and their much-scrutinised 2011 supplements program.
