York wins McIntyre Medal in a thriller
« on: August 27, 2013, 04:19:25 PM »
Hard working lock Daniel York was rewarded for an outstanding Canberra Raiders Cup season by winning the Les McIntyre Medal as the competition’s best and fairest player.

At a function at Raiders Belconnen on Monday night, York won by a vote in a thrilling count from Woden Valley centre Tim Crome.

York secured two votes in Goulburn’s 36-34 loss to Belconnen United to snare the competition’s highest honour.

However, York is set to leave Goulburn after just two seasons to return to Sydney to continue his work in rugby league development.

York’s consistent performances weren’t enough to guide the Bulldogs to the finals, who suffered from a horrendous injury toll.
