Canberra Raiders halfback Mitch Cornish says he's ready to hold a starting spot for the Raiders and isn't daunted by the prospect of forming the least experienced halves combination in the NRL.
The 21-year-old Goulburn product also says he's relaxed and confident ahead of the biggest year of his footballing life, determined to play for a new contract at Canberra and - ideally - stay at the club for the rest of his NRL career.
Cornish is off contract at the Raiders at the end of next season and Canberra is building a war chest to have a big crack in the player market for 2016.
Cornish's manager Paul Sutton said it was too early to talk to the club about a possible extension, something Cornish is comfortable with.
