Casualty Ward: Cowboys suffer big blow as young gun breaks leg

The Cowboys have received a blow a month out from the season with back-rower Tom Gilbert ruled out for up to eight weeks with a fractured leg. “Tom Gilbert suffered a fibula (lower leg bone) fracture at Cowboys training last week, will not require surgeryand expected to miss 6-8 weeks,” NRL Physio tweeted.

“Fibula only takes around 15-20% of body weight so in some cases quick return can be achieved.
