Raiders new fan zone set up for 2013

The Canberra Raiders will be looking to build up the match day experience at Canberra Stadium in 2013, with the introduction of the Raiders fan zone at home matches.

The Raiders fan zone will be set up at the Southern end of Canberra Stadium around the Raiders trademark blow up Viking ship, with Raiders players (injured and those not playing) making an appearance throughout the day, with a host of activities and giveaways for Raiders supporters.

Major Sponsor of the Raiders Huawei Technologies have given Raiders fans attending home matches in 2013 the chance to be heard, by providing their new Raiders ‘Fan Speakers’ at all Raiders home games.

The Fan Speakers are designed so Raiders fans can build more atmosphere at the games by cheering for their team, to show the players on the field how much they are getting behind them on their home turf.

Proud sleeve sponsor of the Raiders Defence Housing Australia will also be providing the new Raiders ‘Fandanas’ which can be worn by fans also.

This weekend will also mark a huge occasion for the Canberra community, with the official return of the iconic Raiders Lime Milk, which will be given out for free at the entry gates and at the Raiders fan zone this weekend.

The delicious green beverage will be flowing freely at Canberra Stadium throughout the afternoon and all fans attending the game will hopefully have the chance to sample the new Raiders Lime.

Raiders CEO Don Furner said the Raiders are looking to make sure attending Raiders home games involve the whole family and with plenty of Sunday matches scheduled for 2013 it’s sure to be the place to spend your weekends.

“The Raiders pride themselves on providing a family friendly experience at our home games and the introduction of the fan zone gives us a chance to give our members and supporters something back for supporting us,” Furner said. “With the fixed scheduling for the first 20 rounds of 2013 our fans know well in advance when we’re playing, so they can plan their weekends around coming out to the footy and getting behind the Raiders at home.

“We’ve got fantastic support from some of our biggest sponsors including Huawei Technologies, Defence housing Australia and Canberra Milk and their support in providing these new initiatives shows they care about the team and the region.

“I’ve also had the chance to try the new and improved Raiders Lime Milk this week and it’s just as good as I remember it back in the 1990’s.”

Memberships for the 2013 season are still available at the match on Sunday at the Western entry to Canberra Stadium, while fans planning to attend the match as a one off can save money by pre-purchasing tickets online at TICKETEK
