2017 was a memorable year for the Queanbeyan Blues as they claimed the Austbrokers Canberra CRC and were within moments from the Reserve Grade Premiership.

It was a near perfect season for the Blues as they cruised through the majority of the season unbeaten. However, it appeared that the Blues may have peaked too early as they suffered consecutive defeats as they entered the finals series. Things didn’t get better as the Blues suffered a heavy 48-24 semi final loss to the Queanbeyan Kangaroos.
However, the Blues regathered fantastically to beat the Yass Magpies 30-0 and reach the grand final where they faced the Kangaroos once again. In a tense affair, the Blues managed to claim a memorable 13-6 win to claim the 2017 Premiership.
The Blues boasted the best defence in the league and the second best attack.

It was a season of what if for the Blues in Reserve Grade as they came so close to winning the premiership. The Blues were unbeaten for the majority of the season before suffering two losses in the final two rounds.
The Blues qualified for the grand final in their first attempt thanks to a 14-6 win against the West Belconnen Warriors. Up against the same opponent in the final, the Blues looked set to win the premiership but were denied by a late West Belconnen try.
The Blues boasted the best attack and defence in the competition.
U18’s Position: 8

Points Against: 772
It was a tough year for the Blues in the Under U18’s competition. The Blues claimed three wins for the season as they beat the Belconnen United Sharks twice and claimed a win against the Yass Magpies.
Although the Queanbeyan based side ended up finishing on the same amount of points as the Magpies, the Blues finished below them due to a vastly inferior for and against.
The Blues attack and defence ranked as ninth in the competition.
