NSW bent rules, says Shillington
« on: June 07, 2013, 02:17:09 PM »
Queensland prop David Shillington has claimed the Blues successfully ''bent the rules'' and allegations of teammate Nate Myles deliberately using his head as a battering ram is a smokescreen to take the heat off NSW skipper Paul Gallen.

The Maroons left ANZ Stadium battered and bruised after Wednesday night's 14-6 loss to a Blues side desperate to prevent an eighth straight State of Origin series defeat.

Gallen led from the front, landing several punches on the chin of Myles and accusing the Maroons forward of dirty tactics, including deliberately leading with his head in tackles.

Canberra Raiders front-rower Shillington said the Maroons should have been prepared for the fiery outburst, along with the leniency from the referees in the Origin arena.

''The only thing I was dirty about … was that we didn't do it to them,'' Shillington said.
