Queanbeyan Blues (1) 44 defeated Queanbeyan Kangaroos (6) 12 at Seiffert OvalThe Queanbeyan Blues have retained their spot at the top of the ladder after a comprehensive 44-12 victory over local rivals the Queanbeyan Kangaroos.
The much anticipated clash between the local rivals resulted in a blow-out thanks to two factors; the stellar form of former Canberra Raiders halfback Marc Herbert and new centre Tyler Stevens for the Blues and the serious injury knee injury suffered by Kangaroos Captain-Coach Aaron Gorrell.
Herbert produced his best performance to date for the Blues, scoring a try and creating countless others with his arsenal of attacking talents, whilst rugby union convert Stevens continued his brilliant start to his rugby league career with another double to take his try-scoring tally to 12 from just six matches.
The major talking point to come out of the match however was the possible career ending injury to Gorrell.
