Running in rain a problem for Campese
« on: July 07, 2013, 01:26:20 AM »
RAIDERS skipper Terry Campese has conceded his reconstructed knee has affected his mindset, admitting his running game has been hit by a lack of confidence in wet conditions.

One of the game's most destructive running halves when in form, Campese has made just one run in the past two matches - with none in last Friday's 32-2 loss to the South Sydney Rabbitohs.

The last two games, against the Wests Tigers and Souths, were played in persistent rain and on sodden tracks.

Ten games back from his second knee reconstruction, the 28-year-old said the mental barrier was still there.

Fine conditions are expected for Canberra's home clash with North Queensland on Sunday, and the Raiders are hoping Campese will be back to his running best.
