Jarrod Croker, Josh McCrone, Josh Papalii and David Shillington have today been named by the Australian Rugby League Commission as four of the 18 players in the Holden Kangaroos’ World Cup train-on squad.
Players from the train-on squad will also be selected to represent the Prime Minister’s XIII team to play Papua New Guinea in Kokopo on Sunday, September 29.
For McCrone and Papalii this is the first time they have been selected in the Kangaroos / Prime Minister’s XIII train-on squad.
Croker had been selected last year but did not partake in any match as the Raiders were still in the finals and the dangerous centre could not crack the formidable combination of Inglis and Hodges.
Whilst Shillington, a representative of seven tests for Australia, will look to fight his way back into the National side for the World Cup after an impressive end to the season despite losing his place in the Queensland line-up earlier this year.
