Personal emotion got in the way: John McIntyre
« on: September 12, 2013, 01:49:47 AM »
Raiders chairman John McIntyre says the decision to sack coach David Furner was the tipping point for his retirement, acknowledging that personal emotion was interfering with his decision making.

McIntyre has also reiterated his personal desire to bring back former premiership player Ricky Stuart to the club as the search for the club’s next coach heats up.

As revealed in The Canberra Times on Tuesday evening, McIntyre will announce his retirement as Raiders chairman at the club’s annual presentation evening on Wednesday.

McIntyre has had a 32-year association with the Raiders, beginning as the inaugural chief executive in 1982 and serving as chairman for the past 11 years.
