Stay of execution for Monaghan8 November 2010, 11:44 am THE Canberra Raiders board has delayed a meeting on the future of disgraced NRL player Joel Monaghan until tomorrow. A statement from the club says Monaghan is being given time to meet with his manager Jim Banaghan who's travelling to Canberra for discussions with him.
Raiders chief executive Don Furner said the club's board would take into consideration the views and interests of the senior playing group when it meets.
Monaghan's career has been hanging in the balance since photographs of him in a simulated sex act with a dog were circulated on the social networking site Twitter last week.
Raiders star Terry Campese has indicated he's talked with teammates and they're keen to urge the board to keep Monaghan.
The Raiders statement refuted reports that Monaghan has quit the club.
