Scholars' victory comes at a costBELCONNEN UNITED SCHOLARS overcame a one-man and one-point deficit to record a gutsy 36-19 victory over the Yass Magpies at Seiffert Oval yesterday.
But it could have come at a cost, with Scholars playmaker Brent Crisp limping from the field with a hamstring problem and powerful prop Tsai Tui sent from the field in the second half for a high shot on Magpies second-rower Patrick Mago.
Scholars coach John Hawke said Crisp was taken off as a precaution and would be right for next week's Canberra Raiders Cup grand final against reigning premiers Queanbeyan Kangaroos.
But he didn't want to comment on Tui's ejection until after he'd seen footage of the incident, which came in the 52nd minute.
