Round 20 Tips Friday July 24 Brisbane Broncos v Gold Coast Titans A win to the Broncos will see them record their eighth win in a row, while the Titans have lost four in a row. The top side against the second bottom side hardly makes for a mouth-watering clash but let’s hope the Titans can make a game of it and apply themselves for the full 80 minutes, otherwise it may be a whitewash.

Wests Tigers v Sydney Roosters If only the Wests Tigers’ best form was their regular, week in week out form. It’s a shame that the Tigers find themselves on the bottom of the ladder, after showing glimpses of what can achieve early in the season. Sydney will be too slick and too hungry to win as they push for a top two finish.

Saturday July 25 New Zealand Warriors v Manly Sea-Eagles The Sea-Eagles suffered a demoralising loss last week, after stringing some good performances together and even seeming an outside chance for the finals. They traditionally have not travelled well this season, with only two wins from nine away games. The Warriors should prove too strong at Mount Smart Stadium.

South Sydney Rabbitohs v Newcastle Knights The Rabbitohs have not been able to win two games in a row in the past seven weeks, but now might be the time to do it at home against Newcastle. The Knights are coming off their first win since 10 with a confidence boosting 30-2 victory over the Titans. However, it is unlikely to be enough to propel the Knights to a win over the reigning premiers.

Melbourne Storm v St George Illawarra Dragons The Storm managed to get back on the winners’ list last with a tremendous win for Cam Smith’s 300th game. They are within touching distance of getting back into the top four, but will face a difficult task against the Dragons who are equally as desperate to get a win after remaining winless in their past six matches. The Storm seem to be back in business though and should account for the Dragons.

Sunday July 26 Penrith Panthers v Canberra Raiders Both these are sides have seven wins for the year and would love a win to keep their very slim finals chances alive. It could be curtains for the loser, with the match likely to be hotly contested. Expect the Raiders to just edge out the Panthers.

Canterbury Bulldogs v Cronulla Sharks The Sharks have dramatically turned their season around and sit just inside the eight after a horror start to the year. They sit two places below the Bulldogs, but equal on wins. The Sharks have been in good form lately and may just be able to beat the Bulldogs.

Monday July 27

North Queensland Cowboys v Parramatta Eels The Cowboys should be far too strong for the Eels on Monday night. They have won their past two and looked far better after the round 16 shock loss to the Sharks. Parramatta will do well to keep North Queensland under 30 points, with injuries hitting the Eels hard.
