Whitehead free to face Storm after taking early guilty plea
« on: August 13, 2019, 11:34:14 AM »
Canberra Raiders second-rower Elliott Whitehead is free to play the Melbourne Storm after taking the early guilty plea for his incident with Sydney Roosters centre Joseph Manu. Whitehead was charged with grade one dangerous contact after his knees made contact with Manu in the 28th minute of the Raiders' 22-18 loss to the Roosters at Canberra Stadium on Sunday. If he pled not guilty he risked missing the Storm clash in Melbourne on Saturday, but an early guilty plea means he's free to face the NRL table toppers. Whitehead will have 75 carryover points heading into the NRL finals. The availability of the England international is a boost ahead of taking on the competition's runaway leaders.
