The Canberra Raiders have continued to secure their talented juniors, with Shannon Boyd signing a new three year deal which will keep him at the club until the end of 2017.
Boyd re-signed for the Raiders at the end of 2013 on a one year deal, but has shown during the pre-season and first few rounds of 2014 that he is a player who can more than handle the NRL and has now secured another three seasons at the club.
Originally from Cowra in country NSW, Boyd played for the Raiders SG Ball and NYC teams, before making his way into the Raiders NRL squad at the start of the 2013 season. Boyd played for Mounties during 2013 in an injury interrupted season, but a massive pre-season in 2014 has seen him make his NRL debut and keep his place in the Raiders 17 so far this year.
Boyd said he’s happy to be remaining in Canberra for three more seasons and said the Raiders are his home away from home.
