NYC Round 11 Match Preview: Raiders v Sea EaglesThe Canberra Raiders Under 20s side will be looking to consolidate their spot at the top of the Holden Cup ladder when they face the Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles at Brookvale Oval on Saturday afternoon.
The junior Raiders moved into first place last Sunday after a narrow 26-24 win over 15th placed Cronulla. The Raiders were pushed to the limit by the courageous Sharks who actually led the Green Machine 24-10 with less than 30 minutes left in the game.
Winger Jonathan Rueben proved to be the hero for the Raiders setting up victory with a 79th minute try off a clever kick from Jack Ahearn.
Coach Mick Mantelli said while he was happy to take the win he wasn’t particularly pleased with the team’s display.
