Kangaroos forward Josh Papalii will undergo scans for a rib injury on Wednesday as he looks to get the all clear to play against New Zealand and prove he is the best prop in the game.
Payne Haas was awarded the Dally M prop of the year, but Haas himself agreed with Canberra coach Ricky Stuart and Australian boss Mal Meninga that his older teammate Papalii deserved top billing.
The pair, both 120kg, posed for photos after training in Kiama and exchanged pleasantries as Meninga talked up the return of Papalii.
