Queanbeyan Blues 40 defeated Goulburn Workers Bulldogs 22 at Seiffert OvalThe Queanbeyan Blues kicked their 2013 season off in style with a stirring 40-22 win over a talented Goulburn Workers Bulldogs outfit at Seiffert Oval.
Queanbeyan got off to a perfect start with two quick-fire tries inside the first four minutes and went onto dominate the first half.
Goulburn rallied in the second stanza and fought back to trail 28-22 however former Raiders halfback Marc Herbert stamped his class on proceedings when he broke free from 30 metres out and engineered a try for the Blues to put a dent in Goulburn’s momentum.
The Blues then scored two late tries to rub salt into the Bulldog’s wounds. At the end of the day, the scoreboard wasn’t a true reflection of the closeness of the game.
