Shaun Fensom named in NRL-RLPA’s Academic Team of the Year While he has often been peculiarly over-looked for on-field selections despite his marvellously consistent form, there has been no denying Shaun Fensom a spot in the NRL-RLPA’s Academic Team of the Year after his impressive commitment to his carpentry apprenticeship.
Fensom began his carpentry apprenticeship in May 2012 with Raiders NYC Coach Mick Mantelli, who coached Fensom in 2008 when the Raiders won the under 20s premiership.
He has continued to work with Mantelli in the off-season on a full-time basis and at least one day a week during the season on his day off from training.
