Dunemann up against Green Machine greats for coaching job
« on: August 21, 2013, 02:20:47 PM »
Interim Raiders coach Andrew Dunemann will have the next three weeks to press his claims for the full-time job next year, but there's no shortage of Canberra greats to replace David Furner.

Premiership-winning legends Mal Meninga, Laurie Daley and Ricky Stuart are among the production line of former Raiders who have gone on to carve out successful coaching careers.

After going 19 years since the club's third and most recent title, the Raiders will be prepared to go all out to return the Green Machine to its glory days.

However, Dunemann has the inside running after making a strong impression during his two years at the club.

He has been installed as a $2 favourite with Centrebet, ahead of Melbourne Storm assistant Kevin Walters ($3.50) and NSW Country coach Trent Barrett ($7).

The 37-year-old's immediate focus is trying to conjure a miracle and guiding the Raiders to the finals, starting with Sunday's clash with Manly at Canberra Stadium.
