Raiders donate to help Cerebral Palsy Alliance
« on: August 30, 2013, 01:16:10 PM »
Raiders Edrick Lee and Jarrad Kennedy paid a visit to the Cerebral Palsy Alliance office in Spence yesterday, to donate some items for their charity auction following to help after the organisation was robbed earlier this week.

Lee and Kennedy provided the CPA with a co-signed Raiders and Melbourne Storm jersey from the 2006 season, along with a host of Raiders merchandise the organisation can use to raise money for the CPA.

Jarrad Kennedy said the Raiders were more than happy to help out and hoped the donations could help their upcoming event.

“Everyone was shocked to hear that someone could break in and steal from a charity not once but twice in a week so the club decided to help them out with some donations,” Kennedy said. “It’s a little bit we can do to show our support for a wonderful charity.”

The Canberra community has rallied in support of Cerebral Palsy Alliance ACT following two break-ins in as many days at its Spence office which threatened to sour the local charity’s biggest fundraising event of the year.

Thieves broke into the Crofts Crescent office of Cerebral Palsy Alliance ACT on Sunday night, and again on Monday night. They damaged office equipment and stole computers and electrical items as well as valuable auction items being stored for the upcoming Spring Fashion Parade to be held on 7th September.
