Panthers vs Raiders Match Information
On Sunday the Panthers will open their 2013 NRL season against a familiar foe, the Canberra Raiders. The two sides have a long history dating back to the early 90’s when they split back to back grand finals in 1990 and 1991. Since the grand final showdowns there hasn’t been anything between the two sides, of the 62 times they have met, the ledger is all square with 30 wins each and 2 draws.
Come Sunday the Panthers will be hungry to kick-off their 2013 NRL campaign with a victory and also nudge ahead in the overall match victories. Both sides went through their pre-season matches undefeated and will be looking to bring this strong pre-season form into the match, which should make for a competitive and cracking match. With the game being played at Centrebet Stadium the Panthers look to have a healthy advantage, winning 16 of the 28 encounters played in Penrith.
It will also be a very special day for 6 Panther debutants as Dean Whare, Wes Naiqama, Sika Manu, Lewis Brown, James Segeyaro and Jeremy Latimore will all play their first official NRL match for the club.
