Tigers pile on points in Canberra

The Wests Tigers have scored 49 points in a demolition of the Canberra Raiders this afternoon in Canberra.

The Raiders started well scoring the first try and it looked like they may be ready to reverse their losing streak.

It didn't take long for that thought to quickly fade however, as the Tigers raced to a 24 - 6 point lead at half time.

After the break the Tigers took the lead further with a field goal to Benji Marshal.

There were again controversial refereeing decisions against the Raiders, with an early whistle costing Josh Dugan a try down the touch line.

Dugan and Alan Tongue were both tireless for the Raiders as they tried to lift their side for a come back.

It wasn't to be however and the Tigers went on to score more tries as the Raiders clocked off towards the end.

This, the 250th game at Canberra Stadium, was only the 4th game at the stadium in Bruce that the Raiders have lost by more than 40.
