Canberra Raiders assistant coach Andrew McFadden has admitted Sunday's clash with Newcastle at Canberra Stadium is ''a finals game come early'', with both sides desperate to remain in touch with the top eight.The Knights and Raiders are among five teams just two points behind the eighth-placed Tigers after they lost to the Cowboys on Monday night. It's only late July, but McFadden conceded the clash with the Knights shaped as a virtual elimination final.
Canberra realistically requires five wins from its last six games to qualify for the finals.
''If we want to make the semis, we need to win this weekend,'' McFadden declared.
