Push to get Ferguson back on the pitch CANBERRA will apply heat on the NRL to allow Blake Ferguson to return next weekend, insisting playing football is crucial for his rehabilitation.
Coach David Furner has also moved to quash claims Ferguson's inclusion could cause a rift, denying reports some senior players felt he had been dealt with leniently in the past.
The Raiders, in consultation with the NRL's integrity unit, suspended Ferguson, pictured, for a minimum of four weeks after he was charged with indecent assault before Origin II.
That ban expires after he answers the charges in a Sydney court on Tuesday, and should he be acquitted or the case adjourned, it is believed the Raiders will push for his reinstatement against Parramatta on Saturday at Canberra Stadium.
