Canberra Raiders skipper Terry Campese has not returned to pre-season training with his teammates on Wednesday morning, requesting an extra month of leave and further clouding his future at the club.
"I can confirm that the club has agreed to Terry Campese's request for an extra month off pre-season training following his recent return from overseas," said Raiders chief executive Don Furner.
Furner said the extra leave would not affect Campese's contract at the club, who is signed until the end of 2015.
But it will undoubtedly place extra strain on his chances of ever playing NRL with the Raiders again.
