The Yass Magpies, Goulburn City Bulldogs and Harden Worhawks all recorded big wins over the weekend in round 13 of the Specsavers Katrina Fanning Shield.
Yass Magpies 44 d Tuggeranong Bushrangers 4 The Yass Magpies recorded their seventh win of the season with a dominant 30 point victory over the Tuggeranong Bushrangers at Greenway Oval on Saturday.
The two sides had a close game back in round 10 when they last met, but this time the Magpies proved too strong. The win sees Yass finish the round equal with the Goulburn City Bulldogs on top of the ladder, just trailing them on for-and-against.
Yass started the game off very well, leading 20-0 after half an hour with tries to Kirsty Hansen, Lucy Prosser, Victoria Alley and Farah Atallah.
The Bushrangers hit back in the 32nd minute when five-eighth Ahlivia Ingram scurried past some Yass defenders to get to the try-line, bringing the score to 20-4.
But Yass were quick to regather the momentum, with second rower Samara Afele scoring a hat-trick and Jacquiline Pele scoring her first try of the season.
