Lazarus and a chorus of former Raiders players have also credited coach David Furner for Canberra's mid-season turnaround, claiming Furner's critics have finally been silenced.
At the halfway point of the 2012 season - round 13 - the Raiders were second-last on the NRL ladder, ahead of only the Eels. They had just come off one of the worst defeats in the club's history, a 40-0 loss to the Wests Tigers at home.
Now Canberra is just one game away from possibly securing an unexpected finals berth and, should they beat the Warriors next Sunday, potentially hosting a home final.
