The Raiders' stirring late season run in 2010 united a city, but Alan Tongue believes making this year's finals would be a greater achievement for the injury-ravaged Canberra side.

Canberra is now odds-on to make the semis after Friday's clinical 34-6 victory over Canterbury, and Tongue insists the adversity it has overcome puts the euphoria of two years ago firmly in the shade.

When chief playmaker Terry Campese was carried off Suncorp Stadium in round seven against Brisbane, most dismissed the Raiders as a finals contender.

Fullback Josh Dugan (nine games missed), prop Brett White (18), starting hooker Glen Buttriss (14), Bronson Harrison and young gun Jack Wighton (15) have also spent extended periods on the sideline.
