Fans put Dugan in All Stars race

Josh Dugan is the favourite to fill the Canberra Raiders spot in the NRL All Stars team after the first round of voting closed yesterday.

The fullback was second on the list of vote-getters after the opening stages, just behind veteran Parramatta forward Nathan Hindmarsh. He will now battle with Canberra teammates David Shillington, Bronson Harrison and Jarrod Croker to be the Raiders' All Star representative.

The Canberra quartet is on a 64-strong short-list for the match at Skilled Park on February12. More than 21,000 fans voted and must now choose just one player from each of the 16 NRL clubs.

Stars Mark Gasnier, Mitchell Pearce and Michael Ennis did not make the second round of voting. Shillington was Canberra's representative in last year's fixture. Raiders Tom Learoyd-Lahrs, Travis Waddell and Joel Thompson are in the Indigenous All Stars squad.

Easily the best fullback in the NRL. He deserves to be there, even non Raiders fans obviously think so. Make note of this NSW and PICK HIM for SOO!!

If Kurt Kidley gets picked at fullback or captain for NSW again that will just about do me ay. So sick of the selectors picking players on (sometimes unearned) reputation rather than actual skill. Dugan must be in the side its time for NSW to move forward.

Well you just cannot deny his talent no matter what club you support. Dugan is one of those players that every rugby league fan realizes is special. It's an elite group with names like Allan Langer, Andrew Johns, Wally Lewis and the big Mal.

Very nice. Now I cant wait for all stars will be great to see him in rep action again. Its bout time rugby league stood up and recognized real talent like Dugez
