Dunemann still in the running for Cowboys top job
« on: August 23, 2013, 07:45:11 PM »
Canberra Raiders interim coach Andrew Dunemann is leaving himself in the running for the vacant job at the North Queensland Cowboys and doesn't want to be judged solely on the next three weeks.

Dunemann has the perfect chance to press his claims for either position if he can guide the Raiders to the finals.

To do that, he will need to negotiate a tricky passage, starting with Sunday's match against the Manly Sea Eagles at Canberra Stadium.

Dunemann has already stamped his mark on the Raiders side with several positional changes, switching rookie sensation Anthony Milford to the halves and bringing in mid-season recruit Bill Tupou in for his debut for the club.

Dunemann admits he hasn't taken over in ideal circumstances and says he will retain his close friendship with sacked coach David Furner.
