Seager rewarded for doing the hard yards

The first time the Raiders met the Penrith Panthers this year, Blake Seager thought that he may not make it back into the starting side again after an ugly injury, however through an incredible amount of hard work, the tenacious second-rower has fought his way back into starting the side.

After an injury interrupted year in 2012, Seager’s tremendous pre-season saw him lining up in the starting side for round one alas after injuring both his media ligament and the syndesmosis in his ankle in the same tackle, Seager was forced to spend an extended period on the sideline, giving his fellow back-rowers a head start.

Through impressive self-discipline, an incredible degree of hard-work and countless hours of undergoing rehab by himself, the Bathurst Panthers product fought his way back into the side in round 15 and has since progressed back to the position he assumed in round one – starting second rower.

“He sustained a pretty bad injury and you really felt for him because he had come back from a broken wrist last year,” NYC Strength and Conditioning Coach Mark Henry said.
