As more than 400 juniors from throughout the ACT run onto Canberra Stadium this weekend chasing premiership glory, none will be more determined than the 34 players in the under-15 girls grand final.
Gungahlin Black, coached by Raiders great Jason Croker, will take on Gungahlin Yellow in the first time girls have had a competition in the Canberra Junior Rugby League in three years.
Croker has been blown away by the physicality of the girls, but admits coaching the opposite sex does pose unique challenges.
''There are some tough girls in there and they rip in,'' he said.
