Raiders line up for Equmen Gift

THREE high profile runners have been added the lineup for next month’s Equmen Gift. The human footrace over 100 metres features 12 ‘studs’, who’ll wear nothing but a pair of Equmen underpants, a singlet and pink bowtie.

The Gift will headline Ladies Race Day on November 5, an opportunity to spoil the fairer of the sexes and raise money for breast cancer research and treatment.

Spectators can back their favourite ‘stud’ by purchasing a ticket in the sweep. It’s shaping up as a race between the tradies and footballer. Millennium Windows employees Andrew Ginn, Brad Clements, Tom Croker, Jarrod Coveney and Pat Smith will line up against Goulburn Workers Bulldogs James Aubusson, Nathan Williams, Tom Chapman and Tim Turner.

Three new additions are sure to attract plenty of attention.

Canberra Raiders and local juniors Jarrod Croker, Joe Picker and Michael Picker will bring glamour to the race. The trio ais on the verge of commencing preseason training and will use the occasion as an opportunity to prove to coach David Furner they’ve been pulling their weight since the end of the season. Michael Picker was a regular in the Bulldogs squad this season.

His place in the Canberra Raiders Cup competition, however, slipped away when he was handed his NRL debut. His elder brother, Joe, is an established player for the Raiders.
