Fall from grace imminent with Ferguson unlikely to front Raiders board 'I don't want to talk about it.''
With those few words on Thursday, more than he uttered in a bizarre Wednesday news conference sitting beside boxer Anthony Mundine, Blake Ferguson hung up and all but signed off his career with the Canberra Raiders.
As of Thursday night, Ferguson had not responded to a Raiders' request to appear at a board meeting on Friday morning to fight for another lifeline at Canberra.
Unless he has a change of heart and appears for the meeting at Canberra Stadium, he will almost certainly be sacked, in the same fashion fullback Josh Dugan was axed after failing to front the board in similar circumstances in March.
