National Rugby League News / Sharks battle with their self-obstruction
« Last post by RNA on Today at 03:52:27 AM »
Shane Flanagan admits Cronulla must address their attention to detail in attack after being denied five tries in the past three weeks for obstructions.

The Sharks had two tries knocked back in their 28-16 win over North Queensland on Saturday night, after one was denied against Melbourne last week as well as two in their loss to Manly a fortnight ago.

"We must have (a problem)," Flanagan said.

National Rugby League News / Ciraldo threatens NRL axe at Panthers
« Last post by RNA on Today at 03:52:26 AM »
Penrith caretaker Cameron Ciraldo has threatened to swing the axe in a desperate attempt to end the Panthers' disturbing trend of slow NRL starts.

After producing three miracle comebacks in as many weeks, the men from the foot of the mountains were finally made to pay for another inept opening in their upset loss to Newcastle on Saturday.

This time there was no fightback and as a result, the Panthers will be relying on other results going their way over the final two weeks weeks of the regular season to reclaim a top four spot.

National Rugby League News / Fifita sends heated message to coach
« Last post by RNA on Yesterday at 11:17:14 PM »
Cronulla Sharks forward Andrew Fifita has raised eyebrows over his second-half try celebration after he aggressively gestured toward his own coaches’ box at Shark Park on Saturday night.

Having spent half the game on the bench the burly front-man barrelled through the visitors’ defensive line with 11 minutes remaining to gift the Sharks the breakthrough they desperately needed.

But when Fifita sprung to his feet and pointed at his coaches box with vitriol rather than celebrating with his team it was clear something was amiss.

National Rugby League News / Sharks spoil Thurston's final game in Sydney
« Last post by RNA on Yesterday at 10:46:05 PM »
Andrew Fifita apparently delivered Cronulla's coaching staff a fiery on-field rebuke as the Sharks kept in touch with the top four with a 28-16 win over North Queensland in Johnathan Thurston's Sydney farewell.

In an emotion-charged night at Cronulla, Fifita burst over the line with 13 minutes to go after spending half the game on the bench having earlier given away a penalty in the lead up to a Cowboys try.

The brutal four-pointer broke a 12-12 deadlock and gave the Sharks the lead.
