Gold Coast have solved their fullback dilemma after signing veteran Michael Gordon to a two-year NRL deal.

Gordon, 34, was released from the final year of his contract with the Sydney Roosters to take up the opportunity with the Titans.

Former Canterbury NRL chief executive Raelene Castle is poised to take over as Rugby Australia's new boss and make another piece of sports administration history.

She will become the first female national boss of an Australian football code.

Rugby Australia said it would hold a media conference with chairman Cameron Clyne and its new chief executive this afternoon.

New Zealander Castle would succeed incumbent chief executive Bill Pulver.

Announcing in August that Perth's Western Force was being cut from Super Rugby, Pulver said he would stand down once a replacement was found.
