« Last post by RNA on Today at 04:40:58 AM »
We have a couple of important milestones in the history of the NRL being approached right now – or not. On one hand, the clubs are hedging their bets about releasing players for the Test in Denver on June 23 (I’m not going to call it ‘proposed’ because allegedly the participation agreements have already been […]

National Rugby League News / Titans admit NRL culture became 'loose'
« Last post by RNA on Today at 03:52:45 AM »
Ash Taylor has hailed Garth Brennan's cultural revolution at the Gold Coast, admitting things had become too "loose" on the Queensland holiday strip.

In an indictment on how badly things spiralled out of control before coach Neil Henry's sacking and the exit of Jarryd Hayne, Titans halfback Taylor said morale had sunk to the point that it affected on-field performance.

The Titans were rocked by a series of damaging stories leaked to the press about Hayne's work ethic which led to a deterioration in the star fullback's relationship with Henry.

The Australian Rugby League Commission could undergo an historic overhaul when NRL clubs vote whether for constitutional reform.

Club chairmen are expected to converge on NRL headquarters just hours before Wednesday's annual general meeting, where they will decide on the make-up of the commission.

Under the proposed changes, NRL clubs would get two representatives, while Queensland Rugby League and NSWRL would also gain seats on a new 10-person table.

National Rugby League News / Cowboys ready to unleash wolf pack: Cooper
« Last post by RNA on Today at 03:52:44 AM »
North Queensland back-rower Gavin Cooper has tipped new recruit Jordan McLean to form a destructive alliance with returning Test prop Matt Scott and Tongan juggernaut Jason Taumalolo this NRL season.

He has even given them a nickname.

"Hopefully he (McLean), Thumper (Scott) and Jase form a little wolf pack," Cooper said.

A mid-year test between the Kiwis and England in Denver makes no sense to local fans.

Todd Carney recently played his first game in Australia since 2014 and there are calls for him to be given another chance in the NRL – a final shot at redemption. « Last post by RNA on Today at 01:12:32 AM »
Wayne Bennett will get the chance to lead England into the 2021 World Cup if he delivers success in the next two years, according to the Rugby Football League's director of rugby Kevin Sinfield.

Sinfield, who made the recommendation to reappoint the 68-year-old after he took England to the final of the 2017 World Cup, says Bennett is happy to extend his stay by two years rather than the four hinted at by RFL interim boss Ralph Rimmer.

"It's the best person for the job and currently Wayne is that," Sinfield told the BBC.
