Cronulla Sharks captain Paul Gallen has slammed the NRL for its inconsistent penalties and suspensions in the wake of the Jack Wighton ruling.
After the Canberra Raiders star was involved in a late-night rampage in February, the NRL ignored the Raiders’ initial proposal of a six-week ban and slapped the 25-year-old with a 10-week ban as well as a fine.
Speaking on
100% Footy, Gallen suggested that comparing Wighton’s incident to previous misdemeanours showed that he had been hardly done by.
